Guidelines for a common port noise impact assessment: the ANCHOR LIFE project

Abstract The paper reports the main contents of guidelines developed in framework project ANCHOR, acronym Advanced Noise Control strategies HarbOuR, which is a European Project funded as part announcement Life 2017. represent an updated version those elaborated NoMEPorts named ‘Good Practice Guide on Port Area Mapping and Management’; aim to define common approach port noise monitoring assessment, considering outcomes previous EU projects algorithms defined by Directive 2015/996, order produce Impact Assessments be included ports Environmental Management Systems (EMS). procedures described will guide professionals organizing managing geographical data, characterizing sources defining, for each them, correct emission power level, evaluating propagation people exposure and, finally, selecting most efficient mitigation action means cost benefit analysis.
